Marine grade stainless steel handrails fabricated and installed across Wellington for stairs, decks, ramps and public buildings.
We design, fabricate and install stainless steel handrails throughout greater Wellington. From a single replacement rail for a residential staircase to a full building handrail run for a commercial fitout, every job is built to your drawings, your site conditions and a high architectural finish.

Stainless steel earns its place in Wellington for one simple reason. The coastal salt and southerly weather strip cheaper finishes within a few seasons, while quality stainless keeps its look for decades.
We work in both grade 304 and grade 316 marine stainless. Grade 304 suits internal stairs, school corridors, commercial mezzanine rails and similar protected environments.
Grade 316 is our default choice for any handrail facing the coast, the wind or chlorinated water, including pool surrounds, balconies in Oriental Bay or Lyall Bay and exposed decks on the Kāpiti Coast.
Our standard handrail tube is 42.4 millimetre or 50.8 millimetre depending on the run, the load case and the visual brief. We can match your architect's detail, copy an existing rail for an extension, or design a fresh profile from scratch.
Brackets, end caps, glass clamps and mid rails are all selected to suit the finish.
Every rail leaves the workshop fully test fitted. On site we install with mechanical fixings into timber, concrete or steel substrates, with chemical anchors used where the substrate calls for it.
Every install is followed by a finish walk, a passivation wipe and a clear handover.
Handrails are quoted per linear metre, and three things move the number more than anything else: the grade of stainless, the number of brackets and returns, and whether we are matching an existing profile or working from a fresh design. A straight wall mounted rail is the cheapest run per metre. A curved or free standing rail with welded returns sits at the top of the range.
As a benchmark on the balustrade side, our Wellington balustrade price guide puts stainless balustrades between $600 and $1,200 per linear metre supplied and installed. Send us a run length and a photo and we will come back with a fixed written quote.

The Fabricator. We design, fabricate and install stainless steel handrails from our Kāpiti Coast workshop, across Wellington City, Porirua, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, the Kāpiti Coast and the Wairarapa. Grade 304 for sheltered interiors, marine grade 316 for anything facing the coast.

If your handrail is exposed to coastal air, salt spray, chlorine or persistent moisture, we recommend grade 316. For sheltered indoor stairs, grade 304 is fine and saves on cost.
Yes. We carry out a site survey, take templates of any curves or angles and reproduce the profile, finish and bracket detail so the new rail reads as part of the original.
Every rail is built to comply with NZBC clause D1 and F4. We can supply producer statements and engineered details where the consent requires them.
