Stainless Steel Fabrication

Custom Stainless Steel Fabrication

Bespoke stainless steel fabrication for one off briefs, prototypes and architectural details.

About this service

Sometimes the part you need does not appear in any catalogue. That is where custom stainless fabrication earns its keep. Bring us a sketch, a drawing, a CAD file or a photo and we will translate it into a finished stainless piece, machined, welded, polished and delivered ready to install.

Custom Stainless Steel Fabrication

Our custom workshop handles work from a single bracket through to fully fabricated assemblies for architects, builders, engineers and home owners.

‍

We have built bespoke stair stringers, flue surrounds, balustrade brackets, signage frames, planters, sculpture armatures, awning supports, fireplace hearths, range hood liners and items most people would not pick up in a normal day's work.

‍

How the process works

The process is the same regardless of scale. We confirm the brief, share a quote with materials, finish and lead time, build a workshop drawing for sign off, then fabricate.

‍

Where a piece is to be seen, every weld is ground and finished. Where a piece sits behind cladding, we focus on tolerance and load.

‍

Working from drawings or a sketch

We are happy to work to engineered drawings, to architect details or to a hand sketch with a few measurements. The final piece is yours to your spec.

Frequently asked questions

Who does custom stainless steel fabrication in Wellington?

The Fabricator. We take one off briefs, prototypes and short production runs from our Kāpiti Coast workshop, for clients across Wellington City, Porirua, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, the Kāpiti Coast and the Wairarapa, and dispatch nationwide where the piece can travel.

‍

What information do you need from me to quote?

A sketch with rough sizes, a photo of the area or item, and the finish you want. We can work from there.

‍

Can you reverse engineer an existing part?

Yes. Drop the original at our workshop and we will measure, copy and improve where the original failed.

‍

Do you do small runs as well as one offs?

We do. Many of our long term clients order short repeat runs of fixings, brackets and components.

Need a metalworker today?

Metalwork can't always wait. Call the workshop direct for honest advice and a fair quote.
